ABOUT MICROPIX

Microlens array components and a miniature camera module

From compact optics to
new possibilities in vision

Micropix began with miniature cameras based on microlens arrays (MLAs). Combining optical design and image processing, we develop vision solutions for real-world challenges that conventional cameras alone find difficult to resolve.

About Micropix

WHY NOW

Physical AI decisions begin with
the information sensors capture

Drones and robots need environmental data to make decisions and act in the real world. Cameras are key sensors supplying visual information.

As the Physical AI market grows, demand also grows for cameras that capture the information real-world applications need.

THE CHALLENGE & OUR APPROACH

Yet diverse industrial challenges
can exceed the capabilities of conventional cameras

01 / CUSTOMER PROBLEM

Information RGB can miss

RGB images show color and shape, but may not distinguish differences in composition or condition between similar-looking objects. Spectral imaging adds wavelength responses to provide evidence for analysis.

02 / MICROPIX SOLUTION

One MLA structure,
Multiple spectral images in one shot

Light passing through spectral filters is collected by individual lenses on a single substrate, forming wavelength-specific images on one image sensor. This simplifies the optical structure for a compact camera and connects captured data to software analysis.
